How many of you have read David Eddings Belgarion & Mallereon, thought the books were great myself. Seems like most people don't even know that he writes fantasy books...

I'm on book 3 or 4 of the Belgarion, and overall, I find it a quite childish series, probably the reason I sort of stopped reading it. It was simply OK, nothing great or remarkable about it....

I read them quite a while ago. They were some of the first fantasy books I've read. Maybe that's why I liked them so much. I re-read them a month ago or something like that.

Well I liked them a lot. Have read Belgariad about two times now and I still laugh. Idon't know if I'm allowed to say this but I also liked Althalus ;D

 (Happy) Seems like I'm not the only person in the universe who likes the series and Silver I loved that book or books (2 parts in swedish).

I do prefer books in English but Swedish gets the job done altough they lose their charm. Finnish really doesn't suit me though, kinda weird not to be able to speak or understand Finnish very well even though I live in Finland. But oh well I'm really against translating books.
Once I manage to get over my little fear with reading E-books I'll be reading 100's of books. (Got one hell of a E-book library) =P

Those series was the first fantasy-books I read. A couple of years ago I believe, in swedish. I really fell inlove with some of the characters. Like Mandorallen and Silke (dont' know if they have the same names in english). I'll read them again sometime, in english. Really good works, and a great introduction to the fantasy genre.

I read the Belgariad a while back, and enjoyed it, and over the summer I saw Belgarath the Sorcerer, and Polgara the Sorceress, which I bought. I read Belgarath, and was a bit dissapointed with it, and I doubt I will get around to Polgara any time soon

Yeah the two standalone books aren't as good as the rest of the series but they are readable.

well I have read all his books/series many times.. even If they're a bit childish they'll always have a special place in my heart especially the Belgariad and the Mallorean and Polgara and Belgarath... my, well almost first read fantasy books....  |

Gotta admit that they are quite childish now and then but I don't know very many other books that actually made laugh as much as Eddings books do. I allways have one heck of a smile on my face when I read them.  |

I allways have one heck of a smile on my face when I read them. I know LOL Eddings books are like those stories that people read to you when you were a kid.. You know their going to end happily.. so it's always fun to read them, hmmm i should now since i have read the belgariad and the mallorean about 5 times and belgarath and polgara 3 times... or it could be more.. I really don't know. ;D |
