I am almost done Blindness, which is a winner of the Nobel Prize for literature, and I must say that it is an amazing book, but the translation could have been better. He has also written another Nobel Prize winner, All the Names, which I will be reading next. I highly recommend his books to anyone looking for a good read

Both Blindness and All the Names were great, but Blindness was the better of the two
Blindness: An epidemic of "white blindness" hits up the metropolis, sparing few whilst indiscriminately attacking the populous. Panic-maddened, citizens take to shelter only to be knocked around by seedier types that are themselves preoccupied with staying safe. From the ruins sways a procession of seven strangers, each totally unique in their background. Together they wade through the aftermath of the city to witness firsthand the harrowing surroundings. Blindness won the Nobel Prize for Literature for its powerful portrayal of man's worst appetites and weaknesses, and the exhilarating spirit that rises beyond them.
All the Names: We live in a cold, lonely world. For Jose, a low-grade clerk in the city’s Central Registry, it is the only life he knows. While working, he deals with birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates. In his free time, Jose collects clippings of famous people. In All the Names, Jose comes across a birth certificate of an unknown young woman. Believing that this is more than chance, he decides to discover the truth about this mystery lady. And this is where the adventure begins!

Oh, I like this guy!
I've read "All the names" and "Baltasar and Blimunda". First, his style is great. A bit hard to follow sometimes, but originall and brave. Second, he likes supernatural motives, and that works very good with me

Oh, a late update from me. I've read the Finnish translation of "Blindness", I guess it was a while ago, might have even been a couple of years ago. Anyhow, I do remember that I liked the book. It was a very interesting read and I really liked the themes of the book. It was well worth reading.
I don't think I've read more than one book by him, not yet anyway, but I might try reading one of those you mentioned Zoran, once I get the time that is.
